The International Day of Happiness was celebrated worlwide
on 20th March . It has been celebrated since 2013 thanks to a
resolution of the United Nations as a way to recognise the importance of
happiness in the lives of people around the world.
It is difficult to define happiness – probably the most
sought-after condition – but most of us can recognise it easily. When the 90th
Awards ceremony was held on 4th
March and the winners were presented
with their awards, they were happy, that´s for sure. Some could be more
emotional than others but all of them must have felt elated at the idea of
having achieved such an honour.
Sam Rockwell ( winner of Best Supporting
Actor award for Three BillboardsOutside
Ebbing, Missouri ), Frances McDormand (winner of Best Performance by an Actress
in a Leading role in Three BillboardsOutside
Ebbing, Missouri ), Allison Janney (winner
of Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting role in I, Tonya) and Gary Oldman (winner of Best Performance by an Actor
in a Leading role in Darkest Hour).
Films, good films
or just the films that we enjoy watching make a big impact on our lives,
sometimes it is a short impact or it can be a lasting one but what we can´t
deny is that they manage to change our lives for a while and sometimes, just
the mere act of watching a film in front of the big screen provides us with, at
least, a few happy moments: it may be an ephemeral feeling of happiness but
that doesn´t mean that it isn´t worth it.
Go to the cinema, watch your favourite film once more, read
the reviews and choose a film or choose a film at random, just watch a film and
enjoy the story and, by doing so, create your own happy moments.
