Funnily
enough, Jennifer Lawrence will probably be remembered not only for winning an
Academy Award but also for tripping on the way up to the stage when she went to
collect her Oscar for Best Actress.

This is not the first time that Jennifer Lawrence
has had problems with her outfit on a special occasion. Last month at the Screen Actor´s Guild Awards, the fabric
of her dress was caught under a chair leg as she got up to collect her award
and her upper thighs and gusset were briefly shown.
Anyway, I think that Jennifer Lawrence should
be remembered not only for choosing problematic dresses but also for being
funny, witty, outspoken and talented. Her reaction when she was being interviewed
after winning the Oscar or her attitude when she attended the Late
Show with David Letterman are a good illustration of her outstanding
personality. I advise you to watch the following videos. Don´t panic if you
aren´t able to understand every single word, watch them and let´s see whether your opinion about this successful actress

Thank you for giving me this chance;) Secondly, the topic you've choosen is known worldwide. In this way, it will be easier to comment your posts since you can always say something. Besides, the layout of your blog is very attractive and makes you continue reading. Personally speaking, I love cinema but I´m not an expert on this matter. I´ll try to do my best. Have you thought about including a sort of timeline related to the history of cinema? It would be interesting, I think.

I just love watching films or learning about films and I think that quite a lot of people feel the same way; that´s why this can be a good topic to attract people´s attention and make them reflect on their knowledge of the English language so that they can improve it or brush it up when it´s rusty (as you refer to your English, by the way, a very good use of the adjective, so it can´t be so rusty after all).
To be honest, I hadn´t thought about including any timeline related to the history of cinema. I agree with you that it can be interesting but I´ve decided that the content of the blog should result from the current events and news concerning films, at least, in general terms.
You´ve also made some very insightful comments about the type of topic that I have chosen: this is a worldwide topic so most of us are likely to be acquainted with it and this offers the people who read the blog the opportunity to reflect and comment on the posts.

ResponderEliminarRecuerdo que la vi por primera vez en el programa El Hormiguero, y quedé sorprendida por su belleza clásica; y algo decepcionada porque no era la imagen de Katniss, que yo había creado en mi mente al leer los Juegos del Hambre.
Cuando vi la película, esa decepción se esfumó, pues, uno se olvida de su impactante aspecto físico, para disfrutar del papel que representa: Katniss, la superviviente, valiente, generosa y temerosa ante el amor.
Felicidades por un blog donde se aprende tanto; y, sobre todo, que te anima a aprender más.

ResponderEliminarDebo reconocer que mi "listening comprehension" necesita mejorar mucho. No tengo problemas con la lectura pero mi oído parece cerrarse al enfrentarme a programas como éste. Me resulta imposible seguir la conversación. Algún consejo?
ResponderEliminarAl igual que Emma he recurrido a otras entrevistas (subtituladas) concedidas por Jennifer Lawrence para ser más consciente de sus palabras. Aunque con sólo observarla y escucharla (sin entenderla) te contagia con su espontaneidad y su sonrisa, sus comentarios a todo tipo de preguntas son, como tú bien dices, ingeniosos y francos. Para mí ha sido toda una revelación. No he visto ninguna de sus películas pero confío en hacerlo muy pronto. Tal vez estemos ante una nueva Meryl Streep, actriz a la que admiro muchísimo.
Gracias por hacer el esfuerzo – como Emma – de ver otras entrevistas subtituladas para entender mejor lo que yo he incluido. Creía que te había respondido en su momento, pero revisando las entradas del blog, veo que por algún motivo no lo hice, así que, como se dice en inglés: “better late than never”. Respecto a mejorar tu “listening comprehension” no hay recetas mágicas, como con todo, es cuestión de práctica, lo cual significa que cuanto más expuesto estás al idioma, más oportunidad tienes de mejorar. Para ello, vienen bien todas las ocasiones que tengas de escuchar la lengua: escuchar canciones, emisiones de radio, vídeos en internet, películas con y sin subtítulos (las dos son válidas, aunque la forma de aproximarnos al idioma varía, pero con las dos podemos aprender) … Lo cierto es que hace unos años no había tantas posibilidades de escuchar la lengua inglesa, y había que hacer una inversión económica personal más notable, sin embargo, hoy en día, gracias a la revolución tecnológica que vivimos tenemos un montón de recursos a nuestra disposición para trabajar la comprensión oral y auditiva de un idioma. De todas formas, lo importante es tomárselo con paciencia y no desilusionarse o venirse abajo porque uno no entiende “nada”. Al principio es normal, así que, en realidad se trata de paulatinamente ir aprendiendo un poco, un poquito y que ese “poquito” crezca hasta que un día te das cuenta de que cada vez entiendes más, sin obsesionarte por entenderlo todo. Evidentemente, para mejorar en este plano, también nos ayuda todo lo que hagamos en otros planos del idioma, así pues, cuanto más leamos, más vocabulario aprenderemos así como la gramática puesta en práctica, y eso nos ayudará a reconocer las nuevas palabras cuando las oigamos, es decir, se trata de conjugar las distintas facetas del idioma para así lograr una mejor comprensión global. Espero que te ayude mi consejo.
